I would recommend the MegaSquirt II.

Is this engine a 6 or V12? If it is a 6 get a EDIS 6 cyl. module and run wasted spark.
If it is a V12 maybe you could rig up two EDIS 6 cyl. modules.
You would also need a 36-1 trigger wheel.

thanks for the reply ollie, it's a v6 engine, it already has a 36:1 trigger wheel in the front case and the vr is on the outside, i have looked at the edis stuff and it does seem to make sense, was just worried about the coil on plug, and also it is vvc, can this be utilised as well

You should have no problem running the EDIS module on the COP. You need to do some more research on the Jag V6. To find out how the coils are fired. If there is a 36-1 trigger wheel and sensor the engine could already have EDIS. Especially since Jag was/is owned by Ford.

V V C, Is this Variable Valve control, if this is correct?
I know MegaSquirt can not control V V C. You might have to piggyback the stock ECM and MegaSquirt.
