new to megasquirt need some help

Post by turbocoupe »

ok to start my name is mike, i recently converted to megasquirt after all of the good things and endless options and power that can be made with it. Now what i have is an 88 thunderbird turbo coupe i know alot of people have used ms on these set ups. My mods r 2.3 stock block stock turbo manifold mildly ported modified to a external wg, sc61 turbo, 3inch exhaust, aerometer fpr, walbro 255hp pump. fmi, ported valve bowl short turn radius and port and polished intake and exhaust ports. ms2 v2.2 lc1 wb, ranger cam and roller rockers, crane double valve springs, msd blaster3 coil. tuned for e85. knifed lower intake and gutted upper. 96lb injectors. i believe thats it but i could be wrong lol. any who i know the setup i have should make an easy 350whp. Now i was wondering what the ideal safe afr for e85 under boost? im really trying to get better mpgs out of it and more power. im running about 20psi with it now and it does pretty good. So what do i do, should i post up a log run or my actual ve tables along with spark?

Probably need to be a little patient on a holiday weekend.

I suspect all the guru's will be back tomorrow.

I've noticed that when I start it and let it warm up then drive it I sometimes have to turn the key on and off until it stops missing or bucking Idk Wat that is but getting real annoying. I also noticed it runs like that until my wideband starts reading or turns on all the way like warms up it also runs better cuz it will be reading 7.5 then 8 then right to 15 and once it reads 15 it runs better instantly. But it will read normal and still buck or miss until I turn it off and on a couple of times.

Is your LC-1 set up for the actual AFR with E85? If not, it's easier to work in lambda. On a high boost engine, I'd typically recommend aiming for 0.8 lambda under boost.

You're probably best off tuning the spark map on a chassis dyno.

I'd just check the Use Lambda box in TunerStudio.

Ok so I narrowed it down to the map sensor have the map daddy and its reading in consistent it will read 19-20 hg at idle and then other times it willed 8hg on my laptop cuz on my mechanical gauge (boost gauge) it always reads 19-20hg so that's y its the map sensor right? Don't these things have a warranty or anything
