Ford knock sensor ring

The newer knock sensors are a ring style sensor. They can be mounted to a bolt on the intake manifold, for example, and they have two wires.
Is there any information on the use of these units with a MS 3.57?

Knock sensors generally require electronics to shape the output signal to something suitable for the MS input - rather like wideband O2 sensors.

I thought the KnockSense was just for the GM block sensor.
