troubleshooting - stuck

Post by alexms »

hi, ive just bought a ms1 v2.2 and put it together and i have no comms, so i tried all the loop-back tests and they all passed except for the cpu one so i went to megasquirtuk and he tried his cable and pc no luck, so he put his stim on it and the fuel light flashed when he gave it rpms, so tried a different cpu and it was the same, then today i went and bought a new crystal and its still the same(back with my cpu and no stim). i have measured the resistances between the max232 ground and the voltage reg and it was 0.1 ohm as was the two lines between the max232 and the cpu. has anyone experienced anything like this? or does anyone have any ideas what it could be or where i should be looking? its my first MS and though im a auto electrician im only 20 so not too much experience. i am 99% sure there are no components in backwards, i have looked over them numerous times in the last 2days

If you get stuck, I can check (free) and quote for a repair, if needed, in the UK.
