The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

Forum rules Read the manual to see if your question is answered there before posting. Many users will not reply if the answer is already available in the manual.
If your question is about troubleshooting, configuration, or tuning, you MUST include your processor type (MS-I or MS-II) and code version in your post. If your question is about PCB assembly or modifications, you must also include the main board version number (1.01, 2.2 or 3.0).
I am installing MS v2.2 board with the relay board and the flyback board in my 78 280Z. I am using the TPS from a 91 300ZX, it has both the switch and pot type TPS in one package. I got the signal, return and 5V ref connected so that it reads correctly as the throttle is increased, but the calibration tool in Megatune v2.25 is giving me 13% - 85% rather than the 0% to 100% I expected. Is this normal or do I have a problem.
Are you using the TPS calibration tool? With your foot off of the pedal (closed throttle) click the "Get current reading" button. Then with the pedal floored (WOT) click the other "Get current reading" button. Megaquirt then automatically does the 0% to 100% conversion for you.
Exactly my point, the cal tool in Megatune does not do a 0-100% cal, it gives me 13(15) to 85%. This can not be just an indication on the gui...otherwise how does the processor identify idle (0%) and wot (100%)?
When using speed dnesity the CPU doesn't care so much about throttle position-- just throttle changes for AE. And truthfully you can do MAP based AE and run without a TPS.
If you were running Alpha-N that would be different as TPS is used to calculate load. For speed density it isn't. MAP is.
As for your calibration issue I had a customer that built up a board this week and mixed up some parts... I think he put the wrong diode in D12. He had a very similar issue where he'd calibrate his TPS but then it wouldn't go the full range, just from like 30-70%. He looked over the board, found his mistake, fixed it, and now his TPS calibrates properly. Just a thought....
