Did I smoke the VR cicuit?

Post by lemans70sport »

I am using EDIS 8 and was trying to get rid of some noise in the VR circuit. I accidentally swapped the PIP and SAW wires at the relay board among other things. Can you troubleshoot a VR circuit without an O scope? After swapping them back to where they should be, I now have to RPM signal. I've checked the wiring from the VR probe to EDIS and from EDIS to the relay board and there are no opens. I get an RPM if I connect the stim to MS so that part is ok. The engine will run for a little while in "limp home" mode but then MS shuts off. Any suggestions?

If it runs on the Stim, the circuit is almost certainly OK. You haven't set up a wheel decoder by any chance?
