Edit (oops, pressed enter by mistake, posted just the subject)
I have a project car I am planning.
It has a v8 engine, which will be turbocharged, fuel will be straight LPG (propane).
The LPG system is a simple mixer, complex converter setup, the only electronic 'control' is a stepper motor which controls a vavle which adjusts the flow of gas from the converter to the mixer. (In a lot of these types of system, this valve - commonly called 'Power Valve' - is manually adjusted only during the tuning process)
What I need to control:
1. Itgnition maps, especially on boost. (so taking inputs from TPS, MAP, RPM)
2. Control the lpg flow via the power valve in both open and closed loop modes, using inputs WBo2, RPM, TPS, IAT, MAP etc. This would be only area of fuel control. The convertor/vapouriser is boost referenced to provide the gas at the correct pressure to be mixed with the charge air.
In the MS docs, I only see mention of stepper motor control in regards to IAC, which I do not need.
The algorithms required for my fuel flow calcs would be fairly simple compaed to a MPI type arrangement.
The options I have already investigated are to have manual power valve adjustment, along with a ignition boost timing retard box, which will limit tuning ability (and the timing retard costs hundreds of $$$).
Can onyone recommend which MS generation will be able to provide the control I am looking for? I understand I may need to do some custom hardware and possbily software to make it work.
Thank you in advance,
Deefa.
