Guys
Im putting a zetec in to a Morris Minor, the physicall installation and chassis stengthening is almost done, so I will have to start the wiring soon.
I have just procured a megasquirt unit with a Jim Stim (V1.5), its been updated to the latest firmware.
My question is... how do I identify which version it is - and is it suitable for the zetec (i'm guessing they all work with the appropriate map)
The main board says MegaSquirt V3.0 MB, and there is another card mounted above it saying MBII V3.01(C) 2005 Bowling & Grippo.
I think that means is a Megasquirt 1 with a MSII Daughter Board? If so what does that actually mean? Does it behave as an MSII? or is it more complicated than that?

That is a V3.0 main board, with an MS-II processor upgrade. See:

You will also want to know what code your controller has on it, especially if you wish to preserve the setting on the controller. For that, see the PortCheck program: http://www.megamanual.com/files/software/portCheck.zip (run this on a PC with your MegaSquirt controller hooked to the C using a 'straight-through' serial port cable). It will report the code version that is loaded on the controller.
If you don't care to preserve the settings (if it was from a completely different or unknown application, for example), you can skip PortCheck, and just reload new code, see this: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/code.htm - this will wipe out the old code and settings)

Would that be MS1 V3 rather than MS3? Im assuming it doesnt have support for internal spark and sequential injection?
No idea what it ran last so I have no need to keep the map on it!

MS1, MS2, MS3 refer to the processor, while V1.01, V2,2, V3.0, V3.57 refer to the mainboard. Any mainboard can accept any processor, but it's a LOT easier to use the more powerful MS2 and MS3 with the later V3.0 / V3.57.
The MS1 is a bare 40-pin chip. The MS2 and MS3 processors are mounted on daughter cards, with additional support components. The MS2 card is blue and sticks out a little bit around the header pins; the MS3 is white and just plain BIG, to the point it needs stand-off bolts to hold it steady.
The MS1 using B&G code does not have spark or sequential injection; the 'Extra' code adds 6 COP-capable spark channels. The MS2 using Extra code has 4-channel sequential injection (mod to the daughter card needed) and 6-channel COP sequential ignition. The MS2 B&G code has 2-channel injection and 1 spark channel (two channels with mods to the daughter card). MS3 has 8 spark and injector channels; there are mods for 12+12.
