Everything hooked up on the Dyno

Post by JTVOLVO »

With the help of Matt Cramer I finally got everything connected properly. When I try to start the engine on the dyno, it attempts to start but I get a good deal of raw fuel out of the exhaust and only a cough or two. It seems as though the ignition timing is retarded but when I mechanically advance it, it improves but I can hear it knock so I know I have gone too far. I have 10% initial advance and have set the advance curve appropriately for this engine but have not gotten beyond cranking. I am concerned that the injector pulse width is 8ms upon cranking. The log shows RPM at about 9000 which is not correct. I believe I have set all the basic setting correctly. Any ideas?

Verify your timing in MT matches the actual timing at the balancer.
