MS1 V3 CONNECTING TO LAPTOP THEN GOES BONKERS

Post by tomo46 »

Hello everyone im hoping someone can let me know where im going wrong, i have a ms1v3 that was tested working on a stim kit ok, if i connect the ecu to the loom and switch on the ignition the 1 red led light comes on indicating that power is there at the ecu, i connect the lead to the laptop, open megatune and a choice sheet appears with several choices on like car1, ms1 original bg code, ms1 extra, ms2 etc etc, i click ms1 original bg code, set port to com 3 which is the correct port, timer interval to 20, serial data rate to 9600, all ok click connect and success appears all ok until i click close and then all heck breaks loose, the screen flashes and a warning screen flashes saying something like incorrect data terminate program or terminal damage may occur or words to that effect, question is what is wrong, what data is incorrect, i tried all the other start up options and cannot get it to talk to the ecu, i have been :RTFM: and can find no mention of this problem any assistance will be helpfull cheers heath
