Need help with a single cylinder ECU

Post by rcman50166 »

Honestly, I do not know much about EFI. I know the theory behind how it works and its components, but I do not know much circuitry and programming. So I am asking for general help. What board do I get? How do I wire a single cylinder system? Is there even an ECU that can run a 148cc single cylinder Briggs and Stratton Engine? What about throttle bodies and all that? Where can I find fuel injector that can run at 12mL/min? Please help me with this. Thanks in advanced. I'm a mechanical engineer so this isn't my domain.

rcman50166,

You might want to start with the FAQ: http://www.megamanual.com/index.html and then read the manual: http://www.megamanual.com/mtabcon.htm. :RTFM:

You can also try searching the forums for "formula sae" and "briggs stratton" to see what other who are doing something similar have tried.

In addition to the links Lance posted, there's a couple accounts from people who have put MegaSquirt products on Briggs & Stratton engines in the Success Stories forum:

You might be able to get an injector (and fuel pump if you're not pressurizing the tank with compressed air) from one of the newer 50 cc injected scooters.
